Description: The Valdina Farms salamander grows from 2 to 3 inches in length, with short legs, reduced eyes under a layer of skin, and external gills. They are grey- or cream-colored, and translucent, sometimes with pale yellow striping or white speckling. Few specimens are known, so the variability of their color and pattern is unknown.

Range: This complex inhabits several caves and springs in Texas;

Found in these States: TX

Diet: Prey probably consists mainly of small aquatic invertebrates, but no detailed feeding studies of this species have been conducted.

Reproduction: Breeding habits are unknown, but it is presumably a larval developer like other species in the genus.

Status: Listed as Vulnerable because its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 7,911 km2, it occurs in five or fewer threat-defined locations, and there is continuing decline in the extent and quality of its habitat in Texas.
