Toads (Bufonidae) of the United States


A true Toad is any member of the family Bufonidae, in the order Anura (frogs and toads). This is the only family of anurans in which all members are known toads, although some may be called frogs (such as harlequin frogs). The bufonids now comprise more then 35 genera.

There are 26 species, representing 3 genus, found in the United States, 24 are native and 2 are Introduced.
